AGENT'S ADVICE

Q: Can I withdraw my property from sale?

A: If your property is currently listed with an agent and you wish to withdraw the property from sale or decide to use the services of another agent, you need to be aware of the consequences that may occur as a result.
If you decide to re-list your property with another agent for whatever reason, ensure that the previous sales agency agreement has expired before signing with the new agent.
If your property is still under agency with the previous agent, you may be legally committed to pay the agreed commission to the previous agent, even if the new agent sells your property.
Also be aware that if the agreement between yourself and the agent was to expire or be terminated and the sale does not proceed with that agent, you may still be legally committed to pay the agent's commission if your property is sold to a buyer originally introduced by that agent.
